Pierce County’s physical environment stretches from the Puget Sound eastward to the heavily glaciated volcano, Mount Rainier.  The quality of our natural and built environment influences the health and well-being of the people that live here.  In this section we will look at indicators such as air quality, water quality, solid waste, and the age of our built environment.
