Poverty by Language Spoken at Home

In both Pierce and King Counties, the majority of households living below the federal poverty line speak English as their primary language, with Pierce County experiencing a higher percentage of impoverished households speaking English (82.1%) than King County (62.2%).

Highlighting the need for services that cater to non-English speaking households, it is estimated that 2,720 non-English speaking households earn an income less than the federal poverty level.
