Income by Race
It can be confusing when looking at the race and ethnicity data for Pierce County, when taking into account that the US Census Bureau has classified Hispanic as an ethnicity and not a race. The racial categories of White Non-Hispanic and White-Alone lead the county when considering income by race and are the only two racial categories earning above the Pierce County Household Median Income, which does not take race into account. The average income gap for those earning less than the Pierce County household median income is about 24%. |
